Season Favourite: Capes & Ponchos Trend Fall 2014

  Capes and ponchos are a major trend this season, my favourite one actually.


Black capes at Saint Laurent.   Let`s start by defining this fall`s trendy alternatives to jackets.  
Checkered capes at Saint Laurent.    Capes originated in the European Renaissance (the 16th and 17th century).    
Black capes with collar Saint Laurent - Porsche Design - Vivienne Westwood Anglomania.   They are made out of circles.    
Capes in earth-hues with high collars at Salvatore Ferragamo.   This season`s capes vary in length, and come in several styles; with or without armholes, collars, buttons etc.     
Small shoulder-capes with embroideries or made of fur at Kenzo.    
Elie Saab featured a diversity of capes.    
Burberry Prorsum`s monogrammed Check blanket poncho was the star of the show.
Ponchos derive from the indigenous cultures of South and Central America.    
Celebs / models like Suki Waterhouse, Cara Delevingne, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Olivia Palermo are already wearing their personalized Burberry ponchos.
It is made of a rectangular piece of wool with a hole cut in it for the head.

  This season`s ponchos also come in a variety of length are open or closed and adorned with fringes, furs, pom-poms etc.
