Fashion Show Coverage: Jean Paul Gaultier F/W 13/14

Salle Wagram was the location of Jean Paul Gaultier`s F/W 13/14 show. The baroque hall with wooden floor, stucco ceiling and ceiling paintings was illuminated in warm red-pink light.

jpg0

The atmosphere was a great reflection of the brand; sexy, exciting and fun but most important: tres francaise. 80s pop music was playing and the hostesses all wore Gaultier`s iconic striped shirts to black skirts.

jpg1

To celebrate the 20th birthday of Gaultier`s 'Classique' perfum, every seated guest (and the models) received a gift bag containing the scent in a newly-designed bottle.

jpg2

Model Coco Rocha sat front row instead of strouting the runway and was center of attention before the show.

jpg3

The lights went out and models were striking poses behind the illuminated backdrop.

jpg04

It was a dynamic show presenting a feminine, self-confident, sexy and luxurious collection.

jpg05

Long coats and maxi skirts (mostly in flowing chiffon) are central elements of the looks.

jpg6

Fur stoles in different sizes and shades were omnipresent.

jpg7

The models walked self-confident and struck poses at the end of the runway.

jpg8

Stripes and graphic prints were shown as well as monocromatic looks.

jpg9

The looks were accessorized with gloves, big metal bangles, clutch bags and opaque tights.

jpg99

The show was underlined by 80s music like Cindy Lauper`s 'Girls just wanna have fun' or The Clash`s 'Rock the casbah' and boy, this collection rocked the casbah!

jpg999

The end of the defilee saw an eversmiling and charismatic Monsieur Gaultier make a quick run down the catwalk.

My own photos.

Jean Paul Gaultier stayed true to himself and his brand with this show and collection since he kept it fun, feminine and extravagant. He displayed fashion for women with confidence and attitude. It`s awesome that he let his models pose, be sexy and feminine - THIS is how a fashion show is supposed to be! (I`m so tired of designers having expressionless 15-year-olds run down the catwalk.) Fantastic show & fantastic collection - season favourite!

What do you like best about the show & collection?

Wunderkind S/S 11 show coverage

Photobucket

Wunderkind`s spring/summer 2011 show was held at Palais de Tokyo in Paris, october 6th 2010.

It was built for the Paris world fair in 1937. It does not only host the Museum of modern art but it also used as a fashion show location a lot.

Photobucket

The show took place on the first floor...

...in a minimalistic white room with a fancy installation in the center of the ceiling.

Photobucket

German Vogue`s chief-editor Christiane Arp sat front row, dressed very cool in all black, wearing a knee-long leather coat, 7/8 length trousers and biker boots along with retro-sunglasses.

Photobucket

The woman sitting in front of me wore cute cat-ears (with feathers) in her hair.
