Christopher Bailey Hosts Event At Burberry`s Flagship Store As Part Of London Collections Men

One june 10th Christopher Bailey hosted an event at the brand’s global flagship store, in the heart of London.

The event celebrated the craftsmanship behind the brand’s iconic products, and kicked off a month of instore bespoke experiences and personalisation services, launching over the London Collections Men weekend.

The store has been transformed to house unique installations featuring artwork by British illustrator Luke Edward Hall alongside a series of live craftsmanship stations where Burberry craftsmen and women demonstrate the skills behind the creation of some of the brand’s iconic designs.

Inspired by an English townhouse, giant installations filled the atrium of the store bringing to life the rich variety of colours, patterns and textures in the brand’s latest collections.

Guests were able to explore and discover pieces from the latest menswear and womenswear collections including The Patchwork bag throughout the night.

Over 600 guests attended the event including Burberry models Callum Turner, Suki Waterhouse, Clara Paget, Hayett McCarthy, Eliza Fairbanks, George Barnett, Tom Hughes, Alice Dellal, Jack Guinness, Eva Herzigova, and David Gandy.

A cocktail reception was held yesterday, March 2nd, to meet the LMVH Prize shortlisted designers and discover their collections.

The third edition of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers has once again received nearly 1,000 entries from more than 50 countries.

This year, 23 talented young designers have been chosen as semi-finalists by the in-house selection committee, under the supervision of Delphine Arnault, who comments: “In 2016, the LVMH Prize welcomes candidates from Japan, China, the United States, Canada, England, Finland, Germany and France, as well as Malaysia and Iran. This is what defines the singularity of the LVMH Prize: it is the first fashion prize that is completely international and digital, and which can bring together in Paris individualities of such diverse, original stylistic expressions. Men’s fashions remain well represented and streetwear continues to make a statement without calling into question the high tradition of women’s ready-to-wear. As a leader in the industry, it is the LVMH Group’s responsibility to identify and help young designers grow.”

Among the fashion designers selected for the third edition of the LVMH Prize, 6 are menswear designers, 7 design both women’s and men’s wear, and 10 are exclusively womenswear designers. In addition, two shortlisted candidates from the 2015 edition, Koché and Astrid Andersen have been selected again this year.

The 23 shortlisted designers will now be invited to meet our panel of 41 international fashion experts. Eight finalists will be selected on March 2nd and 3rd in Paris.

One of the highlights of the night was the opening of Düsseldorf`s first Karl Lagerfeld store in the Kö-Galerie.

The spectacular stairs are the center of the store, as well as two huge screens displaying Lagerfeld`s current collections.

The 200 squaremeters store carries womenswear, scents and accessoires.

Choupette graces many shirts and accessoires, like this shopper, made of Saffian-leather, which premiered at VFNO.

What were your Fashion`s Night Out Highlights?

Vogue Fashion`s Night Out 2015 in Berlin, Vienna & Düsseldorf

Based on an initiative by Vogue, more than 280 boutiques, brand stores and luxury department stores in three cities will open into the night for the VFNO and surprise fashion-fans with premiers, limited editions and special events. Vogue editor in chief Christine Arp and her Team will go on fashion discovery tour in all three cities. 

As every year, the participation partners are commited to a good cause. The revenues from the shopping bag designed by Vogue that can be bought at participating stores go completely to charity. In Berlin to the Berliner Tafel, in Düsseldorf to the Kinderhospiz Regenbogenland and in Vienna to the Licht ins Dunkel society.  

The VFNO is in Berlin for the seventh time: This year, the shopping night takes place on Wednesday, September 9th around the Kurfürstendamm – at Boss, Chanel, Gucci, Tiffany & Co., Wunderkind and others as well as in the luxury department store KaDeWe where the biggest fashion party in Berlin will take place and that opens all four floors for the event for the first time. Special events can also be found at Riani, where one can win personalized woolen ponchos or at the Schwarkopf-Salon Laetitia Coiffeur who offers the perfect Styling for the event.

On Thursday, September 10th, the VFNO will open for the first time in Vienna and take place around the Goldene Quartier, Graben and Kohlmarkt. The designs by young austrian designers can be seen in several runway shows and bought in pop-up stores at the Goldene Quartier, dermatologist and beauty-specialist Dr Timm Golüke presents a new skin cleaning product at Nägele & Strubell and many local boutiques like Modehaus Hämmerle, Juwelier Heldwein and Sportalm are to be discovered. The big designer labels like Alexander McQueen, Emporia Armani, Etro, Jimmy Choo, Prada and Vivienne Westwood also participate in Vienna.

The FNO Düsseldorf starts early; Marlies Möllers Beauty-Parlor offers free styling starting at 2 pm and the Dorotheum Düsseldorf opens the exhibition „Couture et Parure“ at 4 pm. The hotspots of the night in Düsseldorf will be the Königsallee with the stores of Hermés, Karl Lagerfeld, Massimo Dutti and Wolford as well as the Kö-Bogen with the Breuninger department store. The Sansibar takes care of the refreshments, they created the „Fashion-Gourmet-Menue“ especially for the Vogue and the event. The Apropos concept store hosts a highlight will be showing new shoe trends by luxury brands like Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik and Valentino. 

An individualization-special is offered to the customers by VFNO Partners. As in 2014, the brand partners offer specials that make the VFNO 2015 unique – and the trend goes toward personalization. At Diesel one can personalize ones jeans-pants at the „Denim Master Studio“, at Tod's one can design an individual shoe and can personalize bracelets at Thomas Sabo or polo shirts at Lacoste. Falke offers a Special-Edition-pantyhose with Swarovski-crystals. Artfans can enjoy a special offer: The Lumas gallery shows the „Vogue Collection“ with more than 30 pieces by famous photographers and you can win one of the limited photographs in a prize raffle. 

Mercedes-Benz as main sponsor offers a free shuttle service between all shopping destinations in Berlin and Düsseldorf during the event.

The third edition of style/ranking`s FashionBloggerCafé was held during the GDS Shoefair in Düsseldorf.

One of the main aims of the event was to stimulate exchange and networking between Fashion Bloggers.

Collonil offered the possibility to paint your dream shoes and enter a competition.

The Top 10 Red Carpet Gowns of the MET Gala 2015

Kerry Washington wore a clove pink silk faille open back gown with bow accented shoulders. The full skirt is hand-stitched with grosgrain ribbon and crystal embroidery in a floral motif and lined with grey taffeta enriched with a geometric pattern of crystal, plexi and stones. She complemented the look with kelly green silk satin pumps and a hard case emerald green silk satin clutch. All by Prada.

Gong Li wore a long burgundy velvet dress, with a low draped scoop back and sleeves made of jet and strass embroidered black lace by Roberto Cavalli by Peter Dundas. 

Emily Blunt chose a steel blue nylon duchesse keyhole neckline gown with touches of crystal and glass bead ramage embroidery, continuing fully onto the jewel encrusted navy organza cape. She finished the look with a navy raso clutch with a crystal clasp closure. All by Prada.


Du Juan selected an emerald green silk crepe gown with crystal brooches highlighting the python paneled neck and waistline. She complemented the look with a metal frame python box clutch with a green crystal clasp, and grey python and green patent leather peep toe mary jane heels. All by Miu Miu.

Naomi Campbell wore a light green floor-length tulle gown with hand-embroidered sequins and black feather trim, black feather cape, black silk box clutch and black leather cage detail boots, all by Burberry.

Rose Byrne wore a custom Calvin Klein Collection lacquer red hand-cut leather dress fastened with rivets and embellished with agate and red jasper stones. Ms. Byrne also carried a Calvin Klein Collection agate-colored metal box clutch and wore lacquer red satin evening sandals. 

Tang Wei wore a silver tulle gown with hand-sewn crystals and contrast framing detail, black suede fringe detail clutch bag and black silk shoes, all by Burberry.

  Jourdan Dunn wore a burgundy macramé lace gown with hand-embroidered mirror detail, black suede box clutch with mirror detail, all by Burberry. 

Joan Smalls wore a long one-shoulder dress by Roberto Cavalli (by Peter Dundas) in black tulle and purple silk cady cutout, with a flower motif, embellished with sequins, buggle beads and strass accesorised with a purple crocodile belt and a black jet necklace.Which gown is your favourite?

Olivia Wilde chose a primrose pink double satin plunging neck pencil gown embroidered with turquoise and smoke grey crystals and stones, a Duchesse headband, grey nappa leather evening gloves with complementing embroidery finished the look along with magenta and silver platform sandals and a grey jeweled satin clutch.
