Season Favourite: Tom Ford Shoes S/S 13

The Bondage Spike Sandal     The most recognisable details are the signature gold plated spikes that are individually hand sewn onto the leather that covers the heel. This piece of ornate leather plays on the fact that it makes this sandal look like a wedge, yet it has a 105mm heel.  All the hardware used on the Bondage Spike Sandal is in solid brass coated with 0.5 micron gold plating, except for the spike which are in gold plated PVC in order to lighten the weight of the shoe.  It is available in a variety of colours and exotic skins including smooth calfskin, suede, metal python and mirror lambskin.      The Bondage Straps Thigh High Boot      Recognisable by its signature zigzagging of straps going up the calf. This boot when worn should feel like a second skin and directly references the bondage inspiration.
The most recognisable detail is the bold hardware and layers of leather contrasting with the luxurious skins used to make it.
All the hardware used on the Bondage Straps thigh high Boot is in solid brass coated with 0.5 micron gold plating. And each strap along the calf is reinforced with small elastics at each extremity in order to ease the fit.     Pictures © Tom Ford

Tom Ford Bags S/S 13

  The ALIX bag has a soft construction and is offered in a variety of colours and exotic skins including natural soft Mouflon, suede, patent leather and shiny alligator. With its near flat shape the ALIX is available in two sizes, medium which is a shoulder bag, and large which is both a shoulder bag and a messenger bag with an adjustable shoulder strap.   

  Its most recognisable detail is its signature piece of gold plated hardware; the maxi side zip and padlock which is the main focal point of the bag, both functionally and aesthetically. All hardware used on the bag is in solid brass coated with 0.5 micron gold plating and the Alix is completely unlined.      Tom Ford`s SERENA bag is a semi-constructed piece and is offered in a variety of colours and exotic skins including soft natural grain calfskin, suede and back-cut python. Available in two sizes, its unique shape allows it to be carried by the handle, or like a clutch.    The most recognisable detail is its signature piece of gold plated hardware; the half moon handle which is the main focal point of the bag, both functionally and aesthetically. Tom Ford to open first store in Germany

November 28, 2011 – Tom Ford, in partnership with Marion Heinrich, also owner of the new Marion Heinrich Store, opens his first retail store in Munich. The 1400 square foot, two-story franchised flagship store is located at Falckenbergstrasse 9, 80539 Munich adjacent to Maximilianstrasse.

The retail site will ecompass the womenswear collection including clothing, footwear, accessories, eyewear, fragrance and beauty collection under the TOM FORD label.

One enters the store to arrive in a world of feminine luxury. Tom Ford and long-time collaborator Bill Sofield conceived the light-filled and streamlined design to harmonize with the elegant, historic surroundings. The use of polished chrome and blue de Savoie marble that one sees upon entering at the Perfumery is continued throughout the entire first floor which houses eyewear and handbags. On the second floor, softer silver and grey upholstery makes the customer feel as if she is in a luxurious sitting room.

Tom Ford, President and Chief Executive Office, commented, “I couldn’t be happier to be opening our women’s store in Munich. I have known Marion for years and couldn’t ask for a better partner for our first TOM FORD store in Germany. Our goal with this store is to address an extremely discerning luxury customer who demands the highest quality product and service.”

Domenico De Sole, Chairman of TOM FORD said, “We have a longstanding relationship

with Marion and her fashion group and I couldn’t be happier to be opening a store with them. They clearly understand the luxury business and our opening in Munich is the next step to developing our business further in Germany.”

Since the creation of the Tom Ford brand in 2005 it launched sunglasses and the Tom Ford Beauty brand (in alliance with Esteé Lauder), which has produced six Signature fragrances and a full cosmetics line. Tom is designing his own menswear since 2007 and womenswear since 2010. He also directed the movie 'A Single Man'.

It is still one of my favourite collections EVER and I am still totally stunned by the futuristic elegance Tom Ford gave this collection. I adore the strenght, fragility / feminity and dignity in it. I love how visionary but classy he keeps it and his art in tailoring. OH COME BACK, TOM! COME BACK! FASHION NEEDS YOU! *SIGH*
